Industrial Lasers > Fiber Lasers
Process: Marking
Laser marking is fast and flexible process that can mark alphanumeric, graphics, logos, barcodes
and even bitmaps, for part identification and traceability, and can be used and many materials, for example:
Metals;
Non-metals;
Ceramics;
Plastics;
Organics;
Semiconductors.
The good absorption properties of most materials at near IR wavelengths make fiber lasers very
attractive for laser marking applications. The beam quality, compact design and maintenance free operation are of
particular interest.
Application Examples:
Barcode marking on tools;
Marking on medical products;
Contrast marking on anodized metal tags;
Thin film removal on metal and polymer;
Marking keyboards and ID ear tags;
IC marking;
Ceramic filters;
Multicolor marking on titanium;
Jewelry rings and chains.
Typical Lasers for this application:
YPL Series: High Energy Pulsed Ytterbium Fiber Laser 2mJ @ 1070 nm
YPL Series: High Energy Pulsed Ytterbium Fiber Laser 10mJ @ 1070nm
YLR SM Series: 100W-1.5kW Single Mode Ytterbium Fiber Laser @1064 nm
